Michael Schumacher said he was very impressed by Mercedes's preparations for the new Formula 1 season following a visit to the team's headquarters.
The 41-year-old German driver, who is returning to F1 after having retired three years ago, said yesterday he was "surprised" by how motivated the team was during his two-day visit to Brackley, England.
"I have been in the factory in Brackley now for two days and spent the time getting to know the engineers and the structures a bit better, and I am extremely positive surprised about how motivated everybody was," Schumacher wrote on his website."This is a world champion team but it does not seem to be spoilt by success at all; it seems to be hungry for more instead!"
Schumacher completes an all-German driver line-up alongside Nico Rosberg for the former Brawn GP team, which won both drivers' and constructors' titles last season. "I was there already around the time of the signature of the contract and learned a lot, now I have seen much more about the team," Schumacher said.
"What I also liked was that you hear a lot of people speaking German there. That is nice for once, I am not so much used to that at my work and I find it quite convenient." Schumacher won a record seven world championships during a 16-year career, including five straight at Ferrari from 2000-04. He still holds the record for most victories, with 91 from 249 races.
